In April 2024, IEST Product Manager Yi Wang and Overseas Sales Engineer Edward embarked on a one-month customer follow-up trip to the United States. The purpose of this visit was to gain in-depth insights into customers’ experiences and needs when using IEST equipment, address any issues encountered during their research, and actively explore new market opportunities. The customers visited included Cuberg, AM Batteries, Sila, Mitrachem, Wisk, OneD, Factorial Energy, Amionx, among others.

1. Mitra Chem

Mitra Chem is a California-based startup founded by veterans from Tesla (TSLA-US) and Toyota (TM-US), dedicated to developing new LIP chemistry batteries.

During the meeting with Mitra Chem, Edward and Yi Wang gained a deep understanding of how the customer was using IEST equipment for lithium battery research. Mitra Chem acknowledged the high efficiency of the equipment and raised some technical challenges encountered during experiments. Factorial Energy, headquartered in Massachusetts, USA, is a startup dedicated to developing and commercializing solid-state battery technology.

Factorial Energy also expressed satisfaction with the performance of IEST equipment and discussed the current bottlenecks in their battery development process. The IEST team listened attentively to Factorial’s needs and provided corresponding technical guidance and solutions. Cuberg, headquartered in California, USA, is a subsidiary of Northvolt. Its main product is rechargeable lithium metal batteries, which are widely used in electric vehicles, portable electronics, aerospace, and industrial applications.

During the discussions, Cuberg highly praised the stability and high performance of IEST equipment and provided some improvement suggestions.
